On June 30, 1908, there was a great explosion  near the Tunguska River in North Central Siberia.  This was a force that compares to a thirty-megaton bomb that blasted this frozen wasteland.  For almost one century, this mysterious  blast has defied scientists.  None of them have been able to offer a rational explanation for this amazing event.  This can't be considered a nuclear blast, certainly not in 1908, approximately forty years before the atom was split.
